At GS Homes, we consider planning and design the most important step in the building process because it helps ensure we are on the right path with you from the very beginning.
When we first sit down with our clients who are looking to build a new standard or custom luxury GS home, our goal is to get to know you and the life you see for you and your family in your new home.
Many might be surprised to hear that we consider the planning stage the most important part of the entire home building process. This is where we determine your vision for your new home, how you plan to live there, your design preferences, and functional and lifestyle needs.
Because many of our clients are putting their life savings on the line, we want to ensure every possible question has been asked with your answers considered before we begin the design process. Whether you choose from our customizable plans or have your own vision, this is the discovery period where we will be seeking to understand everything about you, your personality, preferences, and new home dreams.
We’ll also want to determine which of our three levels of home builds – Element, Elevate, or Elite – are the right fit for you. We will be with you on this journey the entire way.
The primary focus isn’t the sale but to give people the home that fits their daily lives. The plan always comes first. We plan it and design it and let our custom luxury customers make changes all the way through.
Goldy Ghuman, founderOnce we have a clear understanding of your vision, we launch into the fun stuff (well mostly fun):
Our professional architecture and design team will begin working on your unique, customized home plan that brings together what we’ve learned is important to you in terms of how the home functions, your style preferences, and any unique needs you’ve identified for you and your family.
Okay, it’s not all fun, but it’s important that we determine the scope of your project early on and which of our Element, Elevate or Elite streams are the best fit for you. Transparency and accountability are two key drivers for how we approach this step as we advise you with recommendations on the things that are the most important to you and how to keep the budget and project on track.
Once the contract is satisfied, the drafts people begin their work. This is when it gets real as our team develops floor plans that give you the visual layout of your home along with recommended selections on materials and finishes. The excitement builds as you begin to see your vision come to life!
Breathe… it’s getting close. At this stage, we ensure all specifications are in place for both the construction teams and suppliers to help keep your project moving ahead as smoothly as possible. Your new home is about to be built!
